The national flag is rectangular in shape. The black ground of the flag is bottle green with a sun globe in the center. It may be different size- small or big. But it must be 5:3 in proportion. When the flag is hoisted high it comes into sight as if, red sun were on a small field full of green crops.
The flag of Bangladesh is not a flag only. It conveys a great significance. It represents the way of living and trait that Bangladeshi adopts. The bottle green color stands for freshness, vigor and validity and the sun-globe signifies that their new born nation is continuous and everlasting. It also indicates their promising life and prosperity in future. Last of all, blood-red color of the sun globe is fighting memorial of the endless sacrifice of their nation in the bloody struggle for freedom. It is, as it were, the spirit of revolution-itself. The rising sun also indicates their promising life and bright future.
Their national flag is holier, dearer and more precious to the Bangladeshi people than any other earthly possessions.
